Colder months, stronger base: How to fuel your winter block.

The evenings are drawing in, the trainer is getting more use...and suddenly a big bowl of something warm sounds a lot more appealing than a salad.

This week Jenny is looking at how your nutrition should change as the weather turns colder. The short answer is: not as much as you might think. You don’t need to overhaul everything. A few small shifts can help you keep your energy up, support your immune system and stay consistent through the winter months, which is when a lot of next season’s progress gets built.

She covers warm, nourishing meals, why vitamin D matters more at this time of year, staying hydrated when you don’t feel thirsty and how to handle that very real “winter comfort food” effect without giving up the things you enjoy.

+++ A delicious lentil and butter bean soup that serves four and freezes well, so you’ve got lunches sorted for the week.
